LOTTE Chemical has built ‘MaaS (Material as a Service),’ the customer service platform for customer-centered services and sales activities based on Big Data. ‘MaaS’ is a digital platform that provides ‘order history,’ ‘tracking,’ and other information on a PC or Smartphone mobile app to customers who make purchases.
Customers can efficiently control the inventories using the ‘Real-time Tracking’ service from the point they place an order through arrival. Also, sales representatives can provide real-time services concerning ‘quality tracking,’ ‘defect care,’ and ‘product search’ per customer inquiries for smoother communication with customers. Big Data-based sales activities will be expanded by building new platforms to create new business opportunities based on information accumulated from sales activities.
LOTTE Chemical has preemptively established the DT (Digital Transformation) strategies for customer satisfaction and corporate value enhancement since 2019 and prioritized the development projects to execute. The new ‘MaaS’ platform has been developed mainly for customer convenience based on the intensive tasks selected through 3 months of interviews and simulations with 50 customers.
The ‘MaaS’ platform has provided services to local customers who have purchased PE (Polyethylene) and PP (Polypropylene) products since October and is currently used by about 1,000 customers. The services will be expanded to address customers purchasing other products with feedback from customers, partners, and sales representatives and stabilization of platform.
“It is very helpful for schedule management as I can check the estimated arrival in real-time,” said the representative of a customer using ‘MaaS’. “It has made life easier since I can check product specifications and order information anytime, anywhere.” “MaaS will be a contribution to enhancing the competitiveness of customer service and efficiency of business,” said Director Byung Yeon Lim of Basic Material Division. “We will do our best to actively embed MaaS into the overall systems and processes of the company to strengthen our competitiveness and change the way we work.”
LOTTE Chemical is applying various video conference solutions nowadays as face-to-face meetings are difficult due to the persistence of COVID19. The RPA (Robotic Process Automation) systems have been adopted to maximize the efficiency of business by minimizing redundant tasks. The company will make the utmost efforts to realize digital conversion of the entire systems and business by actively using the Big Data and nurturing AI experts, and the DT platform for sales was the first step.
